Red Hook Children to Climate Strike

Resilient Red Hook is organizing a children’s Climate Strike event at Coffey Park, from 12-2 pm on Friday, September 20th, to coincide with the march on the UN led by the Swedish child activist Greta Thunberg. Climate change is an issue that’s even more critical for the next generation, and building awareness and support among children is a fantastic catalyst for change to the lethargic progress of the status quo.
Local schools and organization such as PS 15, BASIS, PAVE, RHAP, Happy Hours, and others are being invited to attend. There will be speakers from local government and organizations to talk with the kids, as well as related sustainability activities like puppet making, architectural model building, as well as music, food, and the offer of a free ferry ride to the city to attend the rally and march for anyone who wants to go.
