Holiday Event

PS 676 had a holiday gift giving event with Santa that was enjoyed by all in their schoolyard on the Wednesday before Christmas. PS 676 teacher Mr. Nouvertne enjoyed being Santa.

According to parent coordinator Marie Hueston, gifts for the students were donated by PS 676 partners PS 58 (in Carroll Gardens) and Redemption Church Red Hook. Gift cards that were donated for the older siblings of the kids in the school came from St. Francis Xavier Church in Park Slope.

Some of the presents that the kids in PS 676 got to take home included art supplies, science and robotics kits, Lego sets, stuffed animals, Fortnite figurines, Star Wars toys and Nerf footballs.

Pioneer Works came to the event and they had two tables where kids could make ornaments that they could either decorate in the schoolyard or at home. The kids really enjoyed getting to be creative with how they decorated their ornaments and the two Pioneer Works staff members enjoyed overseeing/instructing the kids.

Some of the supplies for the ornaments that Pioneer Works brought came from their temporary location on Imlay Street and others were bought at Michaels, which sells arts and crafts supplies. – Nathan Weiser
